This morning I left San Diego at 7:25 am on the non-stop to JFK. I was heading to Manhattan for the Intix conference. There are always new people to meet and ideas to learn from at conferences. This one looks promising, with 1,200 people registered over the course of the three day event. I plan to write more about Intix later this week.

Weather had been promised, so I was carrying a heavy jacket and wearing my Doc Martins because, you know, snow. Just before takeoff, the lead flight attendant announced Kennedy airport had gotten a lot of snow overnight, but they were working to clear it. We would be almost five hours in flight, so all should be well when we arrive.

In fact, as we landed, I was astonished that I didn’t see any snow. None from the air, none on the drive into the city and none when I got out of the car. It was, however, cold as a MF.

Given the flight time and the drive into midtown, it was 5:30 pm by the time I got into my hotel room which was perfect. Because tomorrow is Martin Luther King day the city was full of people enjoying a long weekend and most of Broadway put on a Sunday evening performance. I had just seen Andre De Shields in a marvelous cameo on the twisted Netflix special John Mulvaney and The Sack Lunch
